Introduction

" I am the black sheep of the family."
Ted King, U.S. actor (1999)

Raised in Bethesda, Maryland, where he attended the Tisch School of Arts at New York University. He majored in film direction. King co-found the portal Theatre company, and Off-Off Broadway reportary company, and he has been a strong presence in New York Theatre for past 7 years. He started acting in college studying theatre at the University of California. He spent 2 1/2 years in Los Angeles working in theatre and on a television show called "Tour of Duty", and the he moved to New York.

Ted went from the lowest-rated soap on the air to the lead in his own series, "Timecop" (ABC, 1997), playing Jack Logan, a law enforcer tracking down criminals who are trying to alter history through time travel. The show, based on the successful Jean-Claude Van Damme feature, however, proved not to be an audience favorite and was one of the early casualties of the 1997-98 season. 5 The handsome dark-haired King had made his mark with daytime audiences as Danny Roberts, bad-boy model and former drug dealer, first for a brief period on "Loving," (ABC, 1994-95), and then on "The City" (1995-97) when "Loving" evolved into the latter. Though born in Hollywood, CA, the actor lived on a ranch during his early years, before settling with his family in Bethesda and Chevy Chase, MD. Originally billing himself as Ted King, he made a guest appearance on the CBS series "Tour of Duty" and had a small role on the NBC daytime drama "Another World".
